Trapped in a stifling small-town marriage, Penny (Kate Mara) secretly defies her bullying husband to land a dream job at the Home Shopping TV Network, where charismatic hosts Willy (Ashton Kutcher) and his bottle-blonde sidekick Cybil (Leslie Mann) sell the American Dream, one shiny product at a time.

Rising quickly up the ranks and soon hosting live on air herself, Penny arouses the attentions of serial womanizer Willy and incites the wrath of the jealous, increasingly unhinged Cybil. When Cybil threatens to expose Penny’s precarious double life to her husband, Penny’s life takes an unexpectedly murderous turn.
